Vitamin C is a naturally occurring vitamin found naturally in fruits and vegetables, specifically those of the citrus family. It has been known to help stimulate collagen production, decrease depth of fine lines and wrinkles and have an overall brightening effect on the skin overtime.  Using a serum or moisturizer with Vitamin C, in an excellent choice, especially for patients looking for a preventative aging skin care regimen. If you are using a serum, you would apply it to the skin after cleansing and before moisturizing.

Ferullic acid is a naturally occurring acid found mostly in plants but also in barley grain.  Ferullic acid has been proved to have outstanding antioxidant benefits for the skin.  It also enhances the stability of Vitamin C, which is why you can often find them both in the same serum.  Ferullic acid helps to prevent the damages of environmental stresses on the skin. We carry a wonderful antioxidant serum which includes both Vitamin C and Ferullic acid.  You will want to use this product in the morning underneath moisturizer and sun screen.

Niacinamide, also known as Vitamin B3, has many benefits to help fight the signs of aging.  Niacinamide can also help to decrease acne production, the visible signs of enlarges pores and uneven skin tone. Using skincare with this ingredient, helps restore the skin barrier and leave you with a healthy glow.

Hyaloronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule found within human skin, which helps to maintain moisture levels and plumpness in the skin.  As time goes by and the skin ages,  hyaloronic acid levels decrease causing the skin to lose its radiance.  Any woman concerned about aging skin, should be using some type of hyaloronic acid in their skincare regimen.  It is also great to use while the skin is in healing mode and the barrier function becomes compromised after a chemical peel or any aesthetic grade procedure. You will ultimately experience less down time and a better end result.

We happen to be launching a fantastic facial moisturizer that all skin types can benefit from, here at Connolly Dermatology.
